56 Days

56 days? Until what? Until I toe the line at my first hundred miler! I signed up for this a while ago, but didn't quite want to admit it. On April 10th at 6am I will be setting off on the Zion 100 mile ultra-marathon. It was hard to think of Ordnance, my longest ever race, being a training race for a much longer race. I looked at a variety of hundred milers, and they all look hard. It's one hundred miles on foot in less than a day and a half, and no nap time. It's going to be hard no matter what. So I opted for scenic. If I'm going to suffer, maybe views like this will help?
I'm nervous, but excited for this challenge. Training is in full swing and going well. Ordnance was a great test run and showed me areas that still need improvement.

I also planned a while back for pacers, and had three and a half options (one friend isn't a runner but really wanted to do a little five mile segment with me). A schedule clash, a surgery, and an undiagnosed lame runner waiting on a specialist referral has me down to one. So if anybody wants to run/hike/shuffle/crawl twenty or so miles through the desert with me, I would greatly appreciate it :)

  1. Exciting news Cyd! I might be tempted to share 10 or so miles with you...this falls on the start of my spring break. Are you planning on running the Willits Classic this weekend?
